Lorna joined 国产乱伦 in 2018 initially as a Visiting Lecturer, before becoming a permanent member of staff, working 3 days a week, in 2024. Lorna started as a Tutor on the Foundations of Management module before expanding her remit to cover a range of topics including Entrepreneurship, Business Consultancy, Professional Skills Development and Introduction to Management and Leadership.
Lorna first began lecturing part time while studying a Customised Masters in Business Communication and Management at Edinburgh Napier University in 2012. During this time she taught Business Skills, Business and Managerial Challenges, Leadership in a Changing Environment and Business Start-up.
Throughout her time in academia, Lorna has also undertaken research assistant/co-ordinator activities covering diverse topics such as digital celebrations during the Pandemic, to the learning and developmental needs of 3rd sector trustee boards and identifying the barriers and enablers of direct entrant students (2nd year above) into higher education establishments.
Prior to entering academia, Lorna was an Internal Communications consultant working for a number of blue-chip companies within the UK, including Toshiba, Arup Consulting and TechnipFMC. Her ethos was to instil a values-led communication culture that brought people together, especially during times of change.
It is fair to say that Lorna has enjoyed an eclectic and varied career path for over 30 years, mainly working in the private sector, and encompassing jobs such as a Secretary, IT Trainer, Webmaster and Marketing & Branding Manager. All these experiences help her deliver a quality service to students that is both grounded in academic theory and practical implementation.
Lorna's main area of research interest is the importance of managed communication within an organisational change scenario.

Lorna's primary teaching area is business management at undergraduate level. The modules are mainly at introductory level to give a solid understanding of how business works. At the end of the course, students should not only have an understanding of the changing world of work and how they fit into it, but also a greater understanding of who they are and what their strengths are.
